It’s about that time.

I finally decided to put “Huffy Hog” online.

This album is more or less a “greatest hits” compilation from the daily song blog. I only say this because if you happen to be one of the few who followed the blog and read it on a regular basis, this album will have very few surprises. In fact, even if you are hearing these songs for the first time you probably won’t be surprised either. I tend to write songs about old technology and things from my childhood that no one will relate to. Thems the breaks! But if you happen to be a fan of 1989’s “The Wizard” or even consider yourself to be an early adopter of CompuServe, you might find something of interest here. Otherwise, you should probably download the new Ke$ha album instead. I actually like it quite a bit. Is that the one with TIK TOK on it? I really do dig that song. And the video. If I were to start this album from scratch right now I would probably shoot more for that Ke$ha sound. You think I’m kidding.

This is sort of the debut LP for hollygorock, even though it falls well short time-wise when compared to the debut EP from 2009. Only a couple of songs top the 2-minute mark on “Huffy Hog”, and those few songs could stand to be even shorter. I’m a get in and get out kind of guy if you know what I mean, wink wink nudge nudge, say no more. If I can’t say it in 52 seconds, it’s probably best on someone else’s album. Maybe a Ke$ha album. I really do like Ke$ha. You think I’m kidding but I’m really not. Ask my girlfriend, she’ll tell you.

At any rate, enjoy my short songs with references to retro things.
